Name
Set of 4 Superleggera dining chairs by Gio Ponti
Ref.
F125
Editor
Cassina, Italie 1951
Description
These iconic chairs are the model 699 or Superleggera designed by Gio Ponti in 1951 and are not to be confused with the heavier and less aerial "Leggera" chairs which are more common.
Apart from the difference in weight these chairs have a triangular section and not a round one like the Leggera model which gives these chairs a very delicate and sleek presence.
They are in black lacquered ashwood with weaved cane seat, which is the most desirable version of this chair.
The presented chairs date from the sixties and are in very good overall condition.
