Mid-Century modern "Cap d'Ail" wall console by Mathieu Matégot, France 1950
This wall console is part of the "Cap d'ail" series of highly decorative outdoor furniture designed by the famous french designer Mathieu Matégot around 1950.
The console features an elegant curved black lacquered metal structure with a series of scrolled edges representative for the Cap d'Ail series.
The console comes with the original half moon shaped top made of thin opaque black glass.
Both visually striking and functional this console is a fine example of 1950's modernism.
