Simon Norfolk is a well known British landscape photographer who has regularly worked with the Agan Khan foundation for Culture. This photography comes from a series of photographs taken in Afghanistan around 2000 illustrating and testifying the damages and desolation in result of the war against the Talibans.
It is noticeable that balloons were forbidden by the Taliban during this war and they create a stark contrast to what are the remains of a former building but also a sign of hope for this forgotten country and its population.
