Description
Uchiwa bamboo "Hana II" hanging lamp by Ingo Maurer, Germany 1970
Iconic and very rare suspension manufactured in Japan for Design M around 1970 in almost new condition.
Composed of six Uchiwa leaves fans which are positioned around a central stem in bamboo. The leaves are positioned so as to compose several layers of thin bamboo and Japanese rice paper.
The circular cotton fabric diffuser is positioned under the shades and creates a soft light dispersion.
The height of the lamp can be changed by manipulating the three strings which are assuring the right balance of the lamp.
This is one of the rarest lamps by Ingo Maurer few of which only have survived because of their extreme delicacy.
Comes with the original box.
