Name Executive Wood and Cast Aluminium Writing Desk by Herbert Hirche, Germany 1967
Ref. F296
Editor Holzäpfel, Germany 1967
Description Executive writing desk by Herbert Hirche from the TOP series manufactured by Holzäpfel Germany.

Herbert Hirche was a German architect and designer who, after studying at the Bauhaus in Dessau, worked in the office of Mies van der Rohe among others.

This highly exclusive desk with its almost futuristic lines combines a large rectangular top in black lacquered wood with a base composed of two heavy cast aluminium wing shaped feet.

The thick black wooden top boasts three additional thin drawers hidden on both sides and they were designed to hold a writing machine or the owner stationery. The big two drawers chest with cast aluminium handles seems to be floating under the top and provides an additional elegance to the desk.

This is certainly one of the most beautiful, rare and outstandingly crafted executive writing desks made.

We have also the matching storage unit in stock.
